The bath house had just been completed when this photograph was taken in 1870. A stagecoach at left, several carriages, and new wooden sidewalks are all part of this intriguing picture. In the distance at the left stands Elias Smith's boarding house.
The Park Hotel, named after the lovely park at the left of the photograph.

Bursting from beneath the sod—
Healing gift of nature's God;
This clear fountain flows again,
Banishing disease and pain.
Purer than the chemist's art—
For it has no counterpart;
All purity is here contained,
A blessing from Heaven ordained.
For man's conform this is sent—
A drink of which to be content;
Healthier than the red wine's cup—
Nature's well-sprint bubbling up.
Type of Heaven's Chasity,
Making mind and body free,
Pure and fresh from 'neath the sod
Bursts the sparkling gift of God.
